July 2019. A clutch made following the instructions for a Dip Dye Clutch in Sew News magazine June/July 2019 issue.

March 2019. Feathery headbands for my daughter's ballet class. They will be performing as swans at the recital in a few weeks. 

January 2019. A fringe cowl made from Red Heart With Love. Pattern from Fiber Flux.

 July 2015. A headband. There are a lot of instructions for simple reversible headbands on Pinterest. I picked one of them, but instead of just using two different patterns of fabric, I decided to embroider one side. The embroidery pattern is from a 1973 Soviet era women's magazine.

 

May 2015. A colorful capelet.  Yarn: Deborah Norville Serenity Garden Gem. Pattern: from a 1970s Soviet era women's magazine.

July 2014. More of the knotted bracelets. They are fast and fun to make. The ribbon ends, chain, and toggle clasps give the bracelets a more polished look.

July 2014. A bracelet knotted from leftover yarn. I found the instructions on Joann.com. The colors and the pattern of the stripes are based on the skirt of the national costume of the Vastseliina county in Estonia.

December 2013. A knitted dress and a head band for Saara's new doll. This pretty Christmas present came wearing a flimsy summer dress (very cute though) and looked totally underdressed for our winter weather. So, out came the knitting needles and two nights later the new doll should feel much cozier around here now. I did not use any pattern, just did my best to follow the measurements of the original dress. And it worked!

The same with the headband - no pattern. I fiddled around until I was happy with the result.

April 2013. A card and a prayer shawl for a friend. Although, I like drawing, I have been out of practice for over a decade and would rather rely on copying a picture. Here, I copied and char coaled an image I found on the internet. The prayer shawl's pattern is one of my favorite from the Lion Brand Yarn Co.

March 2013. Crocheted bracelets. The idea to crochet bracelets came from a number of pictures I have seen on Pinterest and from the necessity to use up leftover thread. For both bracelets I used two strands of no. 10 crochet thread. The yellow and white one is made from rows of double crochet stitch with a chain loop for button closure. For the white one I used chain stitch and bobbles made using half-crochet stitch, and attached a ring clasp. I love them and will wear them a lot. I do not mind if I will make a few more with different color combinations. 

December 2012. Scarves for the families of Sandy Hook Elementary school. I was heartbroken when I heard of the tragedy that took place in Connecticut. I will always be. I responded to a call to make scarves, hats, etc. for the families of Sandy Hook. I am hoping, my little contribution will bring a bit of love and hope into this sad situation.

February 1012. A Prayer Shawl. For this shawl I used Lion Brand Homespun yarn and a pattern I found on the Lion Brand web site. I am not 100 % satisfied with the yarn, it could be rather tricky to work with and may have snarls in the string. All the fringe ends have to be knotted - something I learned long time ago when I first used Homespun. Despite all the short comings listed, I would still go back to the same pattern and same yarn. Mainly because the color(s) are breathtakingly beautiful and the shawl is so incredibly comfortable to wear.

January 2012. A crocheted Sparkle and Shine Necklace, a Double Stitch Twins pattern. Crochet from Red Heart Shimmer yarn. I made the original design a bit shorter. I like it and it is a matchless way to use up left over yarn. This pattern is a keeper.

December 2011. Shimmer Cowl. This is the best neck warmer I have: I can wear it all day and forget I have it on. It never dangles down nor strangles me like a scarf, neither does it restrict my movements like a poncho. I love it so much, I will make a few as presents for my friends.
